  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat and set it aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. You can use an electric mixer or do this by hand with a wooden spoon.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Be careful not to overmix the dough.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  6. Using a cookie scoop or a tablespoon, drop rounded portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart. You can gently flatten the dough mounds with the back of a spoon or your hand, but it’s not necessary.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. The centers may appear slightly undercooked, but they will firm up as they cool.
  8. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheet for about 5 minutes. Then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Repeat the process with the remaining dough until it is all used.
  10. Once the cookies have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container at room temperature. They will stay fresh for several days.
