Making money for the first time as a blogger is the best feeling ever.

When I started this blog, I did not post very often because I just did it for fun. My aim was to share recipes for authentic African dishes from my country Zambia.
Recently, however, in December of 2018, I kept on finding posts from bloggers that talked about these wonderful things they were doing with their blogs and how much income they were getting from it. I decided to take blogging seriously and I am happy to say it was well worth the effort.

I used several methods I could think of and ones that I read about and I managed to make a total of $307. (Approximately, K3,007).

Here below are the methods I used;

Google Ad sense $4.32
Freelance work. $30
Sponsored Posts. $250
Catering. $23

  1. Google Adsense

I was approved for Google adsense on my blog. Although this is an effortless way to get some cool cash, it does not yield much unless you have massive traffic coming to your blog

  1. Freelance work

I took the opportunity to find some freelance work and I got paid for these. To get paid freelance jobs, check on the job board for

  1. Sponsored Posts

I worked with 2 different companies in December 2018 and I got paid for advertising their products as a part of my recipes. I advertised these on my blog and social media accounts.

  1. Catering

I also had 3 clients who requested for some of my authentic African dishes which I cooked and delivered at a fee.

The total amount for all these methods amounted to $307.
