How to Make Delicious Cupcakes

Cupcakes are a classic dessert that never goes out of style.

They’re easy to make, fun to decorate, and perfect for any occasion.

In this recipe, we’ll guide you through the process of making basic cupcakes.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients in three batches, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with the batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.
  6. Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool completely on a wire rack.
  7. Once the cupcakes are cool, use a piping bag fitted with a star tip to pipe whipped cream onto the top of each cupcake.
  8. Sprinkle the tops of the cupcakes with your favorite sprinkles.
  9. Serve and enjoy!

Tips:

  • Make sure your butter and eggs are at room temperature before you start baking. This will help them incorporate better and make a smoother batter.
  • Don’t overmix your batter- mix until the ingredients are just combined. Overmixing can lead to dense, tough cupcakes.
  • You can use any type of sprinkles you like – rainbow, chocolate, or even seasonal themed sprinkles for a fun twist.

Variations:

If you want to switch up the flavor of your cupcakes, you can add different extracts or flavorings to the batter.

For example, you could add a tablespoon of lemon zest for lemon cupcakes, or a tablespoon of cocoa powder for chocolate cupcakes.

You could also experiment with different types of frosting.

Instead of whipped cream, you could make buttercream frosting or cream cheese frosting.

Making cupcakes is an easy and fun way to get creative in the kitchen.

With just a few simple ingredients, you can make delicious and beautiful cupcakes that are sure to impress your friends and family.
