Oven Grilled Goat Meat

Goat meat stew is the most famous way to prepare goat meat and mainly served with hot rice or nshima (pap).

However,  i didn’t have much time to prepare lunch so i  prepared it the easiest way I could think of by throwing it in the grill and it came out really  yummy. I am definitely going to use this recipe again because it was so easy yet delicious.  Here are the main ingredients you will need;

THE GOAT MEAT

The meat has to be fresh and cut into small cubes. this helps in getting ready quickly. It also has to be marinated using some of the ingredients below.

TOMATOES

Tomatoes is a delightful ingredient in the preparation of goat meat as it serves as the main colorant in the dish. . Tomatoes can be applied as fresh tomatoes  or as processed tin tomato puree.

 GARLIC

Garlic  gives the food a nice aroma and taste taste.  To add the garlic,peel off the outer layer by using a clean knife,  wash and then grate it using a grater.

 THYME AND OTHER SEASONING

Thyme is a great seasoning ingredient in preparing goat meat . You can add other seasoning of your choice as well to make the dish more tasty.

GREEN/ CHILI PEPPERS

These are optional though you might want to consider adding some green peppers just to make a colorful looking goat meat dish.

 CARROTS

Carrots make the dish look colorful and adds increases the nutrition of the dish by adding vitamins.

 ONIONS

Onions are optional if you are adding garlic.

VEGETABLE OIL

I like to use vegetable or olive oils because they are less fatty and makes the goat meat healthy to consume for all.

LEMON JUICE

Sprinkling some lemon juice to the dish adds a nice flavor to it.

Preparation

1 kg goat meat

2 medium sized tomatoes

2 medium sized onions

2 Cloves garlic

2 tablespoons of cooking oil

1 medium sized carrot

Green pepper

Concentrated lemon juice

Chilli Peppers (optional)

Salt

 

Method

Clean your goat meat and cut it into small pieces

Sprinkle some salt and lemon juice and cooking oil

Add some diced tomatoes and carrot

Preheat the oven to 230 C grill function

Place it into the oven on your tray and let it grill for 35 minutes

Remove it and add the green pepper, onions/garlic, and chilli pepper

Put it back in grill for some 5 minutes more

It is now ready to serve. Enjoy!
