Ox-Heart Stew Recipe-Zambian Food

 

Here is a simple Ox-Heart Stew Recipe. Ox-Heart is very tasty and delicious. It is can be enjoyed with any starch such as nshima, rice, pasta and potatoes. It is also easy to prepare.

 Ox-Heart Stew Recipe

You will need;

 

Ingredients

1/2kg Ox-Heart
1 onion chopped
Cooking oil
2 tbsp tomato paste or 1 large Tomato
1 beef stock cubes, crumbled

Bell Peppers

Seasoning spices of your choice

Instructions

  1. Cut your Ox-Heart into small pieces and wash
  2. Add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a saucepan/pot and heat
  3. Add the Ox-Heart pieces one by one and sprinkle some salt
  4. Cover the pot
  5. Let it cook for about 1-1.5 hours while you keep adding a bit of water
  6. Add a tablespoon of cooking oil and let it fry while stirring continuously for about 10 minutes
  7. Put the chopped onion and seasoning in the pot and stir for about 3 minutes
  8. Add the tomato paste/ diced tomato and mix well
  9. Add some bell peppers as well
  10. Add in the crumbled beef stock cubes.
  11. Cook until the meat is tender and bring to a gentle simmer
  12. The Ox-Heart stew is now ready to serve
