Here is a simple Ox-Heart Stew Recipe. Ox-Heart is very tasty and delicious. It is can be enjoyed with any starch such as nshima, rice, pasta and potatoes. It is also easy to prepare.
Ox-Heart Stew Recipe
You will need;
Ingredients
1/2kg Ox-Heart
1 onion chopped
Cooking oil
2 tbsp tomato paste or 1 large Tomato
1 beef stock cubes, crumbled
Bell Peppers
Seasoning spices of your choice
Instructions
- Cut your Ox-Heart into small pieces and wash
- Add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a saucepan/pot and heat
- Add the Ox-Heart pieces one by one and sprinkle some salt
- Cover the pot
- Let it cook for about 1-1.5 hours while you keep adding a bit of water
- Add a tablespoon of cooking oil and let it fry while stirring continuously for about 10 minutes
- Put the chopped onion and seasoning in the pot and stir for about 3 minutes
- Add the tomato paste/ diced tomato and mix well
- Add some bell peppers as well
- Add in the crumbled beef stock cubes.
- Cook until the meat is tender and bring to a gentle simmer
- The Ox-Heart stew is now ready to serve
